Maker camp has evolved from Hackidemia and Afrimakers communities and was initially organized in Berlin during the summer of 2014. The first camp lasted a month and had 15 international participants, 20 mentors and many global partners. You can find out more about the initial camp on participants blog and in this video from the demo day.
Our main goals for the camp are:
- The first goal of the camp is to enable participant to build and extremely affordable and modular MakerSpace inside a container.
- We also wish to create a community of practices where we can learn together and from each other and exchange questions, know-how and ideas.
- Last but not least we wish to be able to match participants skills, interests and passion with projects that have an impact for others.
